Major Atlantic hurricane landfall odds 'well below-average' this season

Colorado State University (CSU) maintained its Atlantic hurricane season forecast Wednesday, saying the odds of a major hurricane making landfall in the continental United States remain "well below-average."

We are gathering more information this weekend as emergency responders in Washington issued emergency Level 3 evacuation orders as crews battled the Old Trails Fire. According to our partners at FOX 13 Seattle, fire officials are upstaffing extra equipment as windy, dry conditions create rapid fire spread risks across the Inland Northwest through the weekend. Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown, Gov. Bob Ferguson, Commissioner of Public Lands Dave Upthegrove, and other elected and emergency officials gave an update on the efforts to contain the wildfires on Sunday.
