A heat wave continues to bake the Southwest United States, with no relief in sight for the rest of the week. "This big dome of high pressure is just anchored over the Southwest, continuing to produce this offshore flow, warming up the atmosphere 20 to 30-plus degrees above normal," explained meteorologist Maria Quiban with our partners at FOX 11 Los Angeles. Several parts of Southern California and Arizona not only broke daily records, but in some communities, it was the warmest March day on record.

Reports show a winter storm warning remaining in place for the San Bernardino County mountains through 9 a.m. Friday. The National Weather Service also warns of hazardous conditions due to winds gusting as high as 70 mph and up to an additional 10 inches of snowfall.
