Hochul gives update on winter storm in New York

We are hearing this Sunday from Governor of New York, Kathy Hochul, as New York City is bracing for its first blizzard in more than a decade. This comes as major snowfall still remains across much of the state. According to our partners at Fox Weather, total accumulations for the New York City area are expected to be between 16 and 24 inches, while parts of New Jersey could see 20–30 inches. Governor Hochul’s remarks came after New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani declared a state of emergency for the city’s five boroughs.

We are learning more this Thursday as a third and final storm of the week brings another round of strong winds, rain, and mountain snow to parts of Southern California. Reports show a winter storm warning remaining in place for the San Bernardino County mountains through 9 a.m. Friday. The National Weather Service also warns of hazardous conditions due to winds gusting as high as 70 mph and up to an additional 10 inches of snowfall.
