Anthony was charged after the April 2, 2025, death of 17-year-old Metcalf at a stadium in the Dallas suburb of Frisco.

We are learning more from law enforcement officials as they say a man who claimed to have accidentally shot his girlfriend ended up turning the gun on himself after a five-hour SWAT standoff at a Texas apartment. According to our partners at FOX 26 Houston, the man, 23, and the woman, 20, both died at the scene. The incident began shortly before 2 p.m. when a man called 911 to report that he had accidentally shot his girlfriend, the sheriff’s office says.

Paxton, a prominent ally of President Donald Trump, has now unseated the 20-year incumbent after Trump targeted Cornyn as "VERY disloyal" in the campaign's final days. Paxton now advances to the general election, where he will face Democratic state Representative James Talarico in a contest that could determine control of the Senate.
