Minnesota Governor Tim Walz says Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, were shot and killed this morning in what appears to be a "politically motivated assassination". We also know that Sen. John Hoffman was shot along with his wife in a separate targeted attack in the same area. Both were hit multiple times and are recovering from surgery at this time. Meanwhile the search for the suspect who was disguised as law enforcement is ongoing. The shooter is described as a white male with brown hair wearing black body amour.

The U.S. secret service is making its final preps ahead of President Trump's military birthday parade. Special agent Matt McCool spoke to LiveNOW's Josh Breslow about the the security measures in place. He talked about the nationwide ICE Protests and the conflict between Israel and Iran's role in their security. He also had a message for anyone planning to disrupt the parade, "There will be consequences.

Certain Iranian hardliner’s spoke bravely, but they didn’t know what was about to happen. They are all DEAD now, and it will only get worse! There has already been great death and destruction, but there is still time to make this slaughter, with the next already planned attacks being even more brutal, come to an end. A U.S. appeals court on Thursday allowed President Donald Trump to maintain his deployment of National Guard troops in Los Angeles amid protests over stepped-up immigration enforcement, temporarily pausing a lower court ruling that blocked the mobilization. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals' decision does not mean that the court will ultimately agree with Trump, but it does leave command of the Guard with the president for now. According to reports, Israel attacked Iran's capital, Tehran, with explosions booming across the city early Friday morning. The attack comes as tensions between the two nations have reached new heights over Iran's advancing nuclear program. LiveNOW’s Andrew Craft and Austin Westfall are speaking to Dr. Alon Burstein as more images start to come in from the Middle East. A blast was heard by residents in Tehran, with state television acknowledging the event. Smoke was seen rising from Chitgar, a neighborhood in western Tehran, though the exact target of the blast was not immediately clear. Initial reports say that the United States had no involvement in Israel’s strikes on Iran, according to one U.S. official. An Israeli military official has confirmed the attack has targeted nuclear sites in Iran. An immediate comment from the White House has not yet been made available. The attack comes as President Donald Trump was on the lawn of the White House mingling with members of Congress on Thursday evening.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass held a press conference Thursday on anti-ICE protests and immigration raids across the city. She also spoke on Sen. Alex Padilla's (D-CA) removal from a press conference while he was asking a question to DHS Security Kristi Noem. Bass said she does not "recognize" Noem anymore after serving alongside her in Congress for years. In a post on X, Bass said what happened to Padilla is "absolutely abhorrent and outrageous," adding that the Trump administration's "violent attacks on our city must end."

The House of Representatives passed President Trump's $9.4 billion plan to slash federal funds for foreign aid and public radio, such as PBS and NPR. The bill passed 214 to 212, mostly down party lines -- no Democrats voted for the bill and four Republican lawmakers voted against it. The bill now heads to the Senate for consideration.

Senator Alex Padilla, a democrat from California spoke briefly to reporters on Thursday, about an hour after he was "forcibly removed" from a news conference held by Secretary Kristi Noem with the Department of Homeland Security.
