A lawsuit filed by Gabby Petito' parents against the parents of her suspected killer, Brian Laundrie, will head to court for the first time. The first hearing in the lawsuit is being held to determine if the case will proceed to a jury trial next year. Attorney for Laundrie's parents, Christopher and Roberta Laundrie, is expected to ask the judge to dismiss the lawsuit.

While Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie are both deceased, the investigation continues into their cross country journey leading up to the murder of Petito. The Moab, Utah, police officers who encountered Petito and Laundrie a month before her body was found in Wyoming made several mistakes, according to an independent review released Wednesday.

Teton County, Wyoming, coroner Brent Blue will hold a virtual press conference regarding the final autopsy report for deceased Gabby Petito, officials said Monday. The press conference will be held at 12:30 p.m. MT and is limited to members of the press. The final autopsy report will likely include Petito's time and cause of death, which may help investigators determine who killed her.
