Chris Boex
Chris Boex is an award-winning journalist with almost 25 years of experience covering local and national news, with an emphasis on the space program, aviation, and weather.
The University of Maryland grad began at WSYX-TV in Columbus back when the job title was still "webmaster." Chris then moved to News 12 in New York as a managing editor, where his team won the national Edward R. Murrow Award. In Florida, his work as a digital manager at WFTS and WTVT was recognized by the Associated Press, Society of Professional Journalists, and TV News Check.
Along the way, Chris designed and built the first version of MyFoxHurricane.com, a popular website for tracking hurricanes and connecting communities during Florida’s storm season, and he helped launch the group's first mobile app.
In his ongoing efforts to advance digital storytelling, Chris has ridden into hurricanes with NOAA’s Hurricane Hunters, flown with crews searching for oil after the Deepwater Horizon spill, puttered through the air aboard the Goodyear blimp, and joined USAF KC-135 crews as they refueled everything from B-52s to the Thunderbirds.
Chris is a lifelong fan of the space program and he’s covered dozens of launches at Cape Canaveral – from the space shuttle to early SpaceX successes. In the process, he worked alongside WTVT’s legendary crew and he’s proud to continue their legacy.
Chris now leads a team of digital journalists from across the country who produce stories across a variety of platforms for FOX Television Stations.
