What we know:

The warehouse chain will have a limited rollout of Medicare Advantage plans targeting three markets, but did not disclose exact locations, according to a Wall Street Journal exclusive report.

The coverage will include "a suite of senior-focused products," SCAN said in a news release.

Some offerings will include coverage of prescription drugs, vision, over-the-counter medications, food and hearing.

The plans will not come with a Costco membership, but will be sold at Costco stores. They will also be available through insurance agents and websites.

What we don't know:

The company also did not share a timeline on when the plans would be made available in those select markets, citing regulatory limits, according to WSJ.

What they're saying:

"For more than 40 years, Costco has consistently listened to our Members and earned their trust delivering consistent value on essential goods and expanding our health service offerings," said Ron Vachris, CEO of Costco. "Selecting SCAN as our partner to deliver a better healthcare experience for seniors, is an extension of that commitment. We have developed a shared understanding of what matters most to the seniors we serve. Deepening our partnership allows us to build on that foundation and create value for our Members."
