Watch: Colorado fugitive found asleep in attic after police deploy drone

A Colorado man wanted on a felony warrant was found asleep in an attic after police used a drone to track him inside a Wheat Ridge home, authorities said.

Wheat Ridge police said an officer on proactive patrol spotted a vehicle registered to a man with an outstanding felony warrant and watched as he got out and went into a nearby home.

With the homeowners’ consent to search the property, officers brought in a county sheriff’s drone pilot, who located the suspect in the attic, where authorities said he appeared to be asleep.

What they're saying:

"Weird place to take a nap," an officer is heard saying in the footage as the suspect climbs down from the attic.

Police said the suspect was booked into jail on the felony warrant, where "he can get more rest."
