'The Masking Singer' finale: Galaxy Girl crowned the winner
During "The Masked Singer" finale, Galaxy Girl was crowned the winner and awarded The Golden Mask Trophy for her out-of-this-world performance.
"I learned so much, honestly," the 41-year-old told FOX Local. "Usually, when you're performing, you have eye contact with people. And I think this is about, you know, filling the room with your energy, your heart, your performance of finding different ways to connect with the audience, and you know, from the second I put that costume on, I really felt like I was finding Galaxy Girl."

Ashlee Simpson’s iconic career
Big picture view:
Simpson, who rose to prominence in the early 2000s, became a defining voice of that era’s pop-rock wave. Her 2004 debut album "Autobiography" went triple platinum and ranked among the year’s top sellers, propelled by singles like "Pieces of Me," "Boyfriend," and "L.O.V.E."

Her MTV reality series, "The Ashlee Simpson Show," also offered an early glimpse into her life as both a celebrity and musician.
Ashlee Simpson suggests new music underway
Dig deeper:
Now, she suggests, a new chapter is underway – with new music. "I definitely have the bug," she said, adding, "It brings me so much joy to perform. So I'm definitely working on music and excited to start putting that out and get back out there."
That sense of renewal carries particular resonance given one of pop culture’s most enduring live-TV missteps: her 2004 appearance on "Saturday Night Live," when a backing track mishap exposed her lip-syncing.

The moment, which was widely replayed and dissected, represented the pressures and pitfalls of early-2000s pop fame.

Yet Simpson resists framing her triumph on "The Masked Singer" stage as a simple act of redemption.
"I wouldn't say it's my redemption moment," she said, adding, "I think I've had many of those throughout the year, but I definitely think it is that moment where it's like so freeing to be in the mask and just get to play your character."
She continued, "I mean, I grew up as a dancer and doing theater, and for me to put that mask on and play into the show was a blast, and for people to not know who you are, I think that part was definitely empowering and super fun."
As for whether she might recruit her sister and legendary pop star, Jessica Simpson, to join the FOX competition series, she laughed off the idea with a note of enthusiasm: "Wouldn’t that be great? I think so – let’s get Jessica on there."
