Rep. Kevin Kiley (I-CA) is pushing for the 'Safe AI Act.' Kiley posted on X: "Three years ago, I introduced the SAFE AI Act to make AI safety and alignment research a major federal priority. The capabilities of frontier AI models are now accelerating rapidly, faster than many expected. Congress should pass this bill with urgency. AI has incredible potential to improve all of our lives. Yet realizing this potential depends critically on ensuring models are safely under human control and aligned with human values."
