U.S. acknowledges space weapons deployment

For the first time, The United States has confirmed that it has deployed weapons in space, a significant revelation following years of warnings about the potential militarization of space by countries including Russia. Air Force Secretary Troy Meink told the Air and Space Cyber Conference in Maryland on Monday that the U.S. has fielded “on-orbit space control weapons capable of defending the Joint Force against hostile adversary action.”  LiveNOW’s Austin Westfall brings national security analyst Hal Kempfer into the conversation to discuss.
