In the past 24 hours, a deadly tornado outbreak has killed at least seven people across the South and Midwest, with multiple states, including Tennessee, Missouri, and Indiana experiencing severe damage and flooding. People across metro Detroit are waking up to flooded streets and water in their basements. The storms brought record rain to our region, overwhelming the drainage systems. FOX 2 Detroit's Camille Amiri is has the latest from a flooded neighborhood.

A tornado outbreak is unfolding Wednesday for parts of the lower Mississippi Valley into the mid-South and lower Ohio Valley, including the threat of multiple long-track EF-3 or stronger tornadoes. NOAA's Storm Prediction Center (SPC) upgraded portions of Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi to a rare Level 5 out of 5 "high risk" of severe weather. A massive tornado was spotted by FOX Weather Storm Tracker Brandon Copic as it roared near Lake City, Arkansas. Authorities issued a Tornado Emergency ? the most dire of tornado alerts ? for towns in the path of the storm, such as Leachville and Monette. Copic urged people in the warning area to get to safety.

At least two people were killed Sunday after severe weather battered the central U.S. as FOX Weather continues to track the threat of more destructive storms on Monday. The powerful storms stretched from Lower Michigan down to eastern Texas and northern Louisiana, unleashing damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes.

The moon blocked about half the sun as the sun rose across the Northeast Saturday morning, putting on a show for those up early enough and able to dodge the clouds and rain.

A powerful earthquake rocked Myanmar and neighboring Thailand on Friday, destroying buildings, a bridge and a dam. At least 144 people were killed in Myanmar, where photos and video from two hard-hit cities showed extensive damage. At least eight died in the Thai capital, where a high-rise under construction collapsed.
