9 fires now burning across California

There are now nine wildfires burning across California. This comes as President Donald Trump will be in California today to tour wildfire destruction as we learn that 4 new fires have erupted. But ahead of that the president will also tour western North Carolina, which is recovering after Hurricane Helene pummeled the area more than three months ago.

While crews continue to make progress with the massive Eaton and Palisades fire that left communities devastated, they are now battling the Hughes Fire in the Santa Clarita Valley, which has put an estimated 50,000 residents under evacuation orders. Winter storm brings historic snowfall

A historic winter storm brought once in a lifetime sights as heavy snowfall was reported in cities from Texas and Florida. According to official weather observation sites, both New Orleans and Pensacola saw around 8" of snow, but there were plenty of unofficial social media reports along the Interstate 10 corridor that were in the 10-to-12-inch range. Snow falls in Florida Panhandle

Tuesday evening, widespread reports of 5-12 inches of snow were reported around Pensacola, causing troopers to shut down a nearly 70-mile stretch of Interstate 10. National Weather Service offices along the corridor issued a rare Winter Storm Warning for counties from Pensacola to Jacksonville, warning of snow and ice accumulations. Visitors who attended the College Football Playoff Championship game and others are facing cancelations and delays as a winter storm moves through Georgia. Snow in Florida!

Historic snow covers the ground across North Florida, including Pensacola, Tallahassee and Gainesville. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issuing a state of emergency on Monday ahead of the wintry mess and said that for communities in the Panhandle, the wintry mess could be record-breaking.

History-making snow moves across Houston

In the Houston area, there will be hard freeze likely with temperatures near 20 early Wednesday and many icy roads. Temperatures should climb to near 43 Wednesday afternoon along with abundant sunshine. This should help to melt most of the remaining snow and ice.
