The police department in Moscow, Idaho posted a significant update to the quadruple homicide investigation on social media. The department wrote: "CLARIFICATION: Conflicting information has been released over the past 24 hours. The Latah County Prosecutor?s Office stated the suspect(s) specifically looked at this residence, and that one or more of the occupants were undoubtedly targeted. We have spoken with the Latah County Prosecutor?s Office and identified this was a miscommunication. Detectives do not currently know if the residence or any occupants were specifically targeted but continue to investigate." In the early morning of Nov. 13, the four students were stabbed and killed in their home near the University of Idaho campus. Moscow police said they have not identified any suspects, zeroed in on a motive or recovered a murder weapon. The Moscow community is planning to hold a candlelight vigil at the University of Idaho campus this week for the four students killed. According to the university's website, a vigil to honor the memory of Ethan Chapin, 20, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Madison Mogen, 21, is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 5 p.m. PST. In the early morning of Nov. 13, the four students were stabbed and killed in their home near the University of Idaho campus. Moscow police said they have not identified any suspects, zeroed in on a motive or recovered a murder weapon. Some of the victims' cars have also been towed. Until now, those cars had remained in the parking lot outside of the house the students were killed in.

Officials in Moscow, Idaho, held a press conference on Nov. 23, 2022 to provide updates on the ongoing investigation into the murders of four University of Idaho students.
