Victims identified in deadly B-52 crash in California

Our partners at FOX 11 Los Angeles have the latest updates as Edwards Air Force Base officials released the identities of the eight crew members killed Monday when a B-52 Stratofortress crashed shortly after takeoff during a routine test mission. Officials said the B-52 bomber took off shortly before noon under clear skies, heading south-west, but slammed into the ground about halfway down the 15,000-foot runway.

We are watching SkyFOX who is hovering over the scene of a massive warehouse fire in the Los Angeles area. Reports from our partners at FOX 11 Los Angeles say that officials have not yet released information on what might have caused the fire. The Los Angeles Fire Department has reportedly issued a shelter-in-place order for parts of the surrounding area. FOX 11's crew at the scene reports there is a suspicion of a possible ammonia leak at the warehouse.

We are learning more this Monday after a military jet carrying eight people crashed at Edwards Air Force Base in California according to authorities. Military officials said the crash involving an Air Force B-52 happened shortly after takeoff in a remote area. Aerial images from SkyFOX showed fire crews at the scene and a plume of smoke on the runway. According to our partners at FOX 11 Los Angeles, the cause of the crash is under investigation and the names of the people who were on the aircraft have not yet been released.

We are learning more after a dramatic police chase that apparently ended in a shootout near the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles. The suspect led the Los Angeles Police Department on a chase on Tuesday, but not before crashing the car and running away from the vehicle on foot. Jim McDonnell, Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department, spoke to the media in the hours after the shooting with an update on the officers involved as well as the suspect.
