Starliner astronauts will remain in space until 2025

Boeing?s Starliner is returning to Earth without astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams aboard. NASA announced the news on Saturday, saying the uncrewed return allows NASA and Boeing to continue gathering testing data on Starliner, while avoiding risk for its crew. Starliner astronauts will return February 2025

NASA Administrator Bill Nelson and leadership hosted a live news conference on Saturday where they announced the two astronauts stuck in space, Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, will return February 2025. NASA also announced Boeing?s Starliner will return to Earth without astronauts aboard the spacecraft. The uncrewed return allows NASA and Boeing to continue gathering testing data on Starliner during its upcoming flight home.

Still unclear how Starliner astronauts will return

SpaceX morning launch of 23 Starlink satellites

SpaceX made another attempt to launch a Falcon 9 rocket with 23 Starlink satellites. Liftoff from Launch Complex 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center happened Monday morning past 6:30 am. The first-stage booster will make its 17th flight and land on SpaceX's drone ship 'A Shortfall of Gravitas'', stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

Boeing Starliner astronauts may be stranded until 2025

The two NSAS astronauts who have been stuck in space for more than 60 days, may have to wait until February 2025 before they can return to Earth. NASA also said the astronauts, who arrived to the International Space Station on the Boeing Starliner, may have to be rescued by the SpaceX CrewDragon. Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore launched from Florida on June 5 on a trip that was supposed to last just eight days. Once in space, the crew found a series of concerning helium leaks and thruster failures that have left NASA and Boeing scrambling to find a solution.
