She responded to comments by former President Trump, who during a National Association of Black Journalists event in Chicago earlier Wednesday, suggested Harris misled voters about her race. Trump claimed that Harris, the first Black woman and Asian American to serve as vice president, had in the past only promoted her Indian heritage. Harris called Trump's interview ?the same old show of divisiveness and disrespect.? She added that Americans deserve a leader who "tells the truth" and who "does not respond with hostility and anger when confronted with the facts.?
