Haley Stevens and Dr. Abdul El-Sayed debated live in the FOX 2 studio on "The Pulse" ahead of the primary election next week. Abdul El-Sayed says he’s a doctor and a scientist who wants policy solutions that "map to the problems we face." He also said, "I’m not a socialist. I’m just a capitalist who understands how capitalism works." 

Businessman Mark Lynch, who ran against Lindsey Graham in the recent June primary, has announced his candidacy for the now open Senate seat in South Carolina. This comes as Rep. Ralph Norman says he will also run for the seat in the wake of Sen. Graham’s death. LiveNOW’s Alexandra Goldberg is speaking with GOP candidate Mark Lynch as he explains why he would be the best choice to follow in Sen. Graham’s footsteps in Washington, D.C. 

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers broke his one-year silence on who he wants to replace him. On Saturday, he officially endorsed David Crowley, a candidate who got out of the race last week, only to jump back in. LiveNOW’s Alex Goldberg is speaking with Jessie Opoien from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel as voters gear up to cast their votes in a governors race that might have just gotten more complicated. 

We are learning as President Donald Trump announces that the White House is working to release documents that he says would reveal vulnerabilities in the U.S. election system. The president placed heavy blame on China, claiming the country had meddled in the 2020 presidential election and also claimed members of the "deep state" and U.S. intelligence agencies did not implement any intervention. LiveNOW’s Alexandra Goldberg is speaking with political analyst Brian Sobel as Trump says the documents would be available on the White House website beginning Thursday evening. 

Sen. Mitch McConnell said Sunday that a fall led to his hospitalization, marking his first public explanation of his condition after weeks of speculation. McConnell, 84, said in a statement that he has undergone a battery of tests as doctors try to determine what led to his fall. The statement came in the hours after Sen. Lindsey Graham’s death had been revealed to the public. LiveNOW’s Austin Westfall is speaking with politics reporter Savannah Behrmann as voters begin to wonder if a new batch of lawmakers are starting to emerge in Washington, D.C. 

LiveNOW’s Austin Westfall is speaking with Tom LoBianco, a veteran national politics reporter and editor of 24sight News, as Melat Kiros scored a massive win in Colorado. Kiros ran for Colorado's 1st Congressional District and was supported by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), the Working Families Party (WFP) and the Justice Democrats. 

We are now learning that Rep. Diana DeGette is projected to lose her reelection bid to former attorney and current PhD student Melat Kiros. This marks another recent occasion where a democratic socialist has won in a competitive House primary this cycle. The Associated Press called the race in favor of the 29-year-old democratic socialist Kiros, who is likely to reach Congress with the Colorado district covering the dark blue city of Denver. 

We are learning more this week after the Supreme Court struck down a longstanding federal campaign spending limit. By a vote of 6-3, the justices ruled that political parties can now spend unlimited amounts in coordination with their federal candidates, as long as they otherwise comply with campaign finance laws. We are learning more after The Associated Press called Utah’s 1st Congressional District Democratic primary for former Rep. Ben McAdams on Tuesday. This comes after Utah adopted a new map that keeps most of heavily Democratic Salt Lake County within a single district. LiveNOW’s Alexandra Goldberg is speaking with Emily Anderson Stern from the Salt Lake Tribune as we begin to understand the impact that redistricting has had on Utah politics. 

We are now learning that South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has won the runoff election on Tuesday after quickly beating the candidate initially endorsed by President Donald Trump to capture the GOP nomination for governor in the state. Wilson defeated Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette after Trump said in recent days that he supported both candidates. The race is now set to see who will succeed term-limited Gov. Henry McMaster. Wilson spoke to his supporters in the moments after the primary election in South Carolina was called in his favor. 

We are watching tonight as Georgia Lt. Gov. Burt Jones lost his bid for the state’s Republican gubernatorial nomination. Jones was defeated by billionaire businessman Rick Jackson in the GOP runoff election for governor. Both candidates are working to succeed current term-limited Gov. Brian Kemp. Jackson is now set to face former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, who served in the Biden administration, in this November's general election.
