The U.S. military seized another tanker Thursday associated with smuggling Iranian oil. The U.S. Defense Department said it seized the oil tanker Majestic X in the Indian Ocean. The seizure comes after Iran attacked three cargo ships Wednesday in the Strait of Hormuz, capturing two of them.

Overnight, U.S. forces seized an Iranian leaked sanctioned stateless vessel in the Indian Ocean. Officials say the ship was carrying Iranian oil and the operation happened in the INDOPACOM area. U.S. officials say they will keep targeting illicit networks at sea and intercept vessels supporting Iran wherever they operate. They add that international waters will not shield sanctioned actors and say efforts will continue to restrict their ability to operate.
