The king and queen made a visit to New York City where they visited the 9/11 Memorial and placed bouquet of flowers and note at the site, attended an event at the New York Public Library. Their final day in the U.S. included a formal farewell at the White House with the president and first lady and a visit to Arlington National Cemetery where they placed a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. They then traveled to Front Royal, Va. where they attended an America 250 Block Party. The king then visited Shenandoah National Park and the queen visited a horse farm. The king then departed the U.S. with a formal sendoff at Joint Base Andrews as he traveled to Bermuda while the queen returned home.

This comes as the war also rages on in the Middle East. The Israeli Defense Forces said in Southern Lebanon 40+ infrastructure sites were dismantled. Among the targets struck were command centers, military structures and more. Marc Chandler with Coastal Carolina weighs in.
