President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he would give Iran 48 hours to open the Strait of Hormuz or face new consequences. The Strait of Hormuz, a choke point for around 20% of the world’s daily oil supply, has been effectively shut down following recent attacks on Iran. We are learning more this Sunday as the Senate has now voted to advance Sen. Markwayne Mullin to succeed Kristi Noem as secretary of Homeland Security. The Senate voted 54 to 37 to advance Mullin, setting up a final vote on his nomination likely at the start of the week. "Judicial warrants will be used to go into houses, into place of businesses, unless we're pursuing someone that enters in that place," Mullin said during his confirmation hearings. "I have not mixed words with that, and I haven't changed my opinion about that." 

President Trump has vowed to strike Iranian power plants if Iran didn’t fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz in 48 hours. This comes as Iran and Hezbollah launched intense strikes against Israel.
