Authorities are investigating a new lead in the deadly mass shooting at Brown University, focusing on photos and videos of an individual recorded around 2 p.m. Saturday, several hours before the attack. The FBI has announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction and described the individual as approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall with a stocky build. A previously detained person of interest has been released and cleared of any involvement, Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha said. The shooting killed two students and injured nine others, prompting the cancellation of classes and exams as the campus remains under heightened security and tension.

The U.S. military just released new video shows the moments it attacked three boats accused of smuggling drugs in the eastern Pacific Ocean, killing a total of eight people as scrutiny over the boat strikes is intensifying in Congress. This also comes as Sec. Rubio and Defense Sec. Hegseth are expected to go before the senate regaurding the strikes. The military said in a statement on social media that the strikes targeted “designated terrorist organizations,” killing three people in the first vessel, two in the second boat and three in the third boat. It didn’t provide evidence of their alleged drug trafficking but posted a video of a boat moving through water before exploding.

We are getting more information as a new morning breaks in Australia after at least 16 people were shot and killed Sunday during a Hanukkah celebration. There were two shooters in the attack at Bondi Beach, police said. One gunman, a 50-year-old man, was fatally shot by police. The other shooter, his 24-year-old son, was wounded and was being treated at a hospital. On Monday, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese provided an update on the shooting during a press conference alongside other officials.

The U.S. Army has named the two Iowa National Guard members killed in a weekend attack in Syria. Sgt. Edgar Brian Torres-Tovar, 25, of Des Moines, and Sgt. William Nathaniel Howard, 29, of Marshalltown were identified as the victims. Officials said a U.S. civilian working as an interpreter was also killed. Three other Guard members were wounded in the attack.
