Appeals court rules border asylum ban illegal

The Associated Press has reported that a three-judge panel from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit found that immigration laws give people the right to apply for asylum at the border. The court reportedly ruled that the president can’t circumvent that.

However, the Fed did signal it could still cut rates in the coming months. The Fed kept its short-term rate at 3.6% and retained language in its statement suggesting the next move would be a rate reduction. Prosecutors allege that the post, which featured an arrangement of seashells, threatened President Donald Trump. The two-count indictment charges Comey with "knowingly and willfully" making a threat to "take the life of, and to inflict bodily harm upon" Trump and with transmitting a threat in interstate commerce.
