LiveNOW’s Anna Marsick is speaking with trial attorney, Andrea Lewis, after the South Carolina Supreme Court overturned the murder conviction and life sentence for Alex Murdaugh. Reports indicate that the high court ruled unanimously that conduct by a court clerk "egregiously attacked Murdaugh’s credibility" by suggesting to jurors his testimony could not be trusted. The court also said the trial judge went too far in allowing evidence of Murdaugh’s financial crimes into his murder trial. 

Kouri Richins sentenced to life for husband's murder

We are watching reactions from inside the courtroom as Kouri Richins, the woman who was found guilty of murder in the death of her husband, spoke before hearing her sentence. After speaking to the court and reportedly addressing her sons, Richins found out that she will spend the rest of her life in prison. This comes as she is sentenced for aggravated murder. Richins also received five years to life for attempted aggravated murder, 1-15 years each for two counts of insurance fraud, and up to five years for forgery, according to local reports.
