Conflict arises after El Paso airspace closing

The Federal Aviation Administration and the Pentagon appear to be at odds over Wednesday morning's sudden closure and reopening of the airspace over the city of El Paso. Flights resumed as normal after the FAA grounded all flights to and from El Paso on Tuesday night. U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy confirmed the airspace closure was due to a "cartel drone" breach. Duffy said after the incident that the FAA acted swiftly to address the incident in West Texas. U.S. employers add 130K jobs, better than expected

We are learning more this Wednesday as the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) jobs report shows U.S. employers added 130,000 jobs in January. This number was reportedly above the expectations of economists. We are also hearing that the unemployment rate was 4.3%, slightly lower than economists' expectations of 4.4%. 3-year-old missing after deadly shooting in DC

A woman was killed, and her 12-year-old daughter was injured in a shooting in Northwest D.C. Police say they are also searching for a three-year-old boy in connection to the incident. No information on a possible suspect has been released at this time. DC Police Chief Jeffery Carroll provided an update.

U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson is currently providing more details on the successful passage of the SAVE America Act. The bill aims to prevent noncitizens from voting in elections. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, Whip Tom Emmer, Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain, Committee on House Administration Chairman Bryan Steil, and Rep. Chip Roy also joined Speaker Johnson in support of the legislation. The legislation will now have to pass the Senate, where current rules dictate that at least a few Democrats are needed to meet the 60-vote threshold to overcome a filibuster.
