Dolphins star Tyreek Hill carted off field after gruesome knee injury on MNF

Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill suffered a severe injury after his left knee became badly twisted shortly after he made a catch near the sideline during the team’s game against the New York Jets on Monday night. 

Hill is having surgery on Tuesday.  Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel confirmed Tuesday that Hill also tore multiple ligaments in his knee, including his ACL. 

Hill on Tuesday, posted a video to X from his hospital bed to express thanks for the prayers and support he has received.

"Thank you guys for the prayers, I feel all the love. Here we go," Hill wrote Tuesday.

NFL Network reporter Cameron Wolfe reported that McDaniel praised the medical staff for urgency and professionalism in eliminating worst case complications for Hill’s injury.

Wolfe noted that McDaniel said he’s heard only good things so far in regard to Hill avoiding nerve damage following very serious knee injury. McDaniel: "Several ligaments, including the ACL are part of the dislocation."

The injury occurred when Tyreek Hill made a catch and got tackled near the New York Jets sideline in the third quarter. Hill was running near the sideline and planted his foot, and his knee appeared to twist as he was getting pulled down by a Jets defender. 

The NFL world immediately reacted to Hill’s injury, including a social media post from Kansas City quarterback and Hill’s former teammate, Patrick Mahomes. 

Hill is a five-time All-Pro selection and won a Super Bowl championship with the Chiefs in 2019. He has 11,363 receiving yards since entering the NFL in 2017, the most in the league over that span. And he also has 819 career catches.
