Ex-NFL star Le'Veon Bell arrested for allegedly not paying child support: Reports

Former NFL running back Le’Veon Bell was arrested after being accused of not paying child support.
Bell is being held in Stark County Jail in Ohio, USA Today reported, citing the Canton Repository.
Thomas Shaffer, a lawyer representing Bell, claims the former NFL star is being "inaccurately" charged for child support based on the salary he received during his career as a professional athlete.
Bell faces three felony charges of failing to pay child support in Grand Rapids, Michigan and he reportedly owes $112,522.89 as of Feb. 3, USA Today reported, citing Kent County, Michigan records obtained by the Canton Repository.

TMZ reported that Bell resides in California and prior to his arrest, he was at an autograph signing in Canton, Ohio.
Bell has a child in Michigan and the warrant on which he was arrested is out of Michigan, according to court documents obtained by USA Today.

Le’Veon Bell was selected in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He spent the first five years of his career with the team before skipping the 2018 season over a contract dispute with the organization.
In 2019, Bell played for the New York Jets, and he later joined the Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His final season in the league was 2021. Bell finished his career with 6,554 rushing yards and 42 touchdowns.
