Rocking chairs sold at Academy Sports + Outdoors nationwide recalled due to injury risk

Academy Sports + Outdoors is recalling a brand of rocking chairs because the legs can break and may cause an injury.

Approximately 35,300 chairs were pulled after the retailer received one report of the chair’s legs breaking, but there have been no injuries, the Consumer Product Safety Commission noted in a Jan. 22 recall letter.

Why you should care:

Academy Sports + Outdoors’ Magellan-branded Odyssey Rocker Chairs were recalled and the products were sold between September 2025 to October 2025.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the chairs come in different colors, including charcoal, navy, and olive green.

Can I get a refund for the rocking chairs?

What you can do:

If you have a rocking chair, the Consumer Product Safety Commission is urging consumers to immediately stop the product and return them to any Academy Sports + Outdoors store to receive a refund. Customers can also call Academy’s Customer Care to return the chair by mail at no cost.
