The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced the recall of more than 1,600 pounds of ready-to-eat pickled goat and chicken products made by an Austin, Texas, company, as they were produced without the benefit of inspection.

Indus Foods, doing business as Gangothri Foods, produced the affected products between Jan. 28, 2025, and May 6, 2026.

The backstory:

The issue was discovered during routine FSIS surveillance activities.

The agency is concerned that some of the products may still be in consumers’ homes or on restaurant and distributor shelves.
