Lego reveals Pokémon sets for first time ever

The Lego Group may soon have consumers saying, "I gotta catch ‘em all.’

According to the companies, the first Lego Pokémon sets will allow fans to build and display their favorite Pokémon in Lego brick form.

The launch of the first three sets features five fan favorite Pokémon – Pikachu, Eevee, Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise – recreated in Lego brick form.

From January 12 to February 27, Lego and Pokémon fans will also be able to look for hidden Lego Pokémon clues across digital channels. They will be challenged to find clues hidden throughout Lego digital content and Pokémon digital content, to unlock rewards and the chance to win a grand prize: experiencing PokémonXP and the 2026 Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco, including access to Championship Sunday at the Chase Center, as well as all three new Lego Pokémon sets. Fans can start looking for a password on Pokemon.com starting January 26.

The new LEGO Pokémon sets are now available for pre-order via LEGO.com/Pokemon and Pokémon Center.

Immediate purchase will be available on LEGO.com, LEGO Stores, and Pokémon Center starting February 27, 2026.

Lego Smart Play brick sets bring ‘creations to life’

Earlier this month, the Lego Group also launched Lego Smart Play, a new interactive play platform designed to bring Lego creations to life through responsive, screen-free technology. 

The product series was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026 and represents one of the most significant evolutions in the Lego brand since the introduction of the Lego minifigure in 1978.

At the heart of Lego Smart Play is the Lego Smart Brick, a newly developed component that allows Lego builds to respond to physical interaction for the first time. 

The brick contains a custom-made chip smaller than a standard Lego stud and incorporates sensors, accelerometers, light and sound detection, a miniature speaker with an onboard synthesizer, and wireless charging capabilities.
