Granola designed for breastfeeding moms recalled over Salmonella fears

The makers of Lacnola Lactation Granola recalled certain pouches because of fears they may be contaminated with Salmonella.

The company that produces the granola, Hampton Grocers, Inc., issued the recall after a supplier reported that one of its products tested positive for Salmonella. That product has an ingredient, organic moringa powder, that is also used in the granola, a statement shared by the Food and Drug Administration explained.
By the numbers:
Lacnola Lactation Granola was sold nationwide on the Hampton Grocers website, as well as other online retailers, such as Amazon, between October 21, 2025, and August 12, 2026, the company said. All of the recalled packages are in pink, eight-ounce stand-up pouches.

Lot codes and expiration dates can be found in the upper left side on the pouches and the affected pouches are:
- Lot HGLC-102125 with expiration date of 21OCT2026
- Lot HGLC-021326 with expiration date of 13FEB2027

Why you should care:
Eating food that has been contaminated with Salmonella can cause salmonellosis, a common bacteria-based foodborne illness. Most infected people will experience fever, diarrhea, or abdominal pains within six hours to six days after eating the foods. The illness can last up to a week. Most people recover without treatment. However, young children, older adults, and those with weakened immune systems can suffer more severe symptoms.
What you can do:
Anyone who has purchased the granola is asked to throw out the packages and contact the retailer where they purchased the product for a full refund.
What's next:
Hampton Grocer has stopped making the granola for the time being while the company and the FDA investigate what happened and try to determine the source of the problem.
Hampton Grocers noted that no illnesses connected to the granola have been reported.
