Baby sleep supplement recalled over undeclared ingredients

Pacific Health Sciences is voluntarily recalling one lot of Babies’ Magic Tea Baby Sleep Gripe Water after testing found undeclared ethanol, methanol and isopropanol in the dietary supplement.

The recall involves 4-ounce amber bottles of Baby Sleep Gripe Water from lot No. 25122BW with a best-before date of December 2028. The bottles are packaged inside blue cardboard boxes and include an oral syringe. The lot number appears on the bottom of the box and on a side panel of the bottle.

The Food and Drug Administration said testing found approximately 8.3% ethanol, 0.35% methanol and 0.48% isopropanol. None of the substances were listed on the product’s label.
Why you should care:
The presence of the substances may pose a health risk depending on how much of the product is consumed, as well as the user’s age and body weight, according to the FDA.
The affected product was distributed to Secrets of Tea for further distribution through online retailers, including SecretsOfTea.com and Amazon.
Pacific Health Sciences said it has not received any reports of adverse events linked to the recalled lot.
What you can do:
Consumers, parents and caregivers should immediately stop using products from lot No. 25122BW. The product should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase for a refund.
Anyone who develops symptoms after using the product should seek medical attention and contact Pacific Health Sciences.
