Amazon Prime Day shoppers spend more than $26 billion during four day event

Consumers looking to save extra money for deals on electronics, appliances and daily household needs through Amazon Prime Day spent over $26 billion during the four-day annual sales event. 

Shoppers stocked up on deals between June 23 and June 26 as the multibillion-dollar spending frenzy represented a 9.3% year-over-year surge that retail analysts’ credit to inflation combined with buyers being prudent when purchasing items that will last longer.

Electronics and toys among top Prime Day items purchased 

Dig deeper: Referencing Adobe Analytics data, Reuters reported that discounts during the Amazon Prime shopping event spurred consumers to buy expensive goods like electronics, toys, and appliances. 

This year’s Prime Day ​deals were similar to discounts on items during the 2025 shopping event, with bargains for electronics averaging 24% compared to last year's discounts of 23%, apparel at 24% compared to 23% and toys at 20% versus last year's ⁠19%.

The annual shopping event offers millions of exclusive deals to Prime members and has become one of the biggest shopping events of the year, with savings across categories like electronics, fashion, home goods, kitchen, and groceries.
